The amount of moss depends on how thick or dense you want the coverage to be. If you’re planning to cover the entire wall, you’d need quite a bit. Generally, for a natural, lush look, you might need about 1 to 1.5 square meters of moss for every 1 square meter of wall space, depending on the moss’s density. Since your wall is 12 square meters (3m x 4m), you’d likely need at least 12 to 18 square meters of moss. Anything else needed, please let me know!

A safe estimate is 1 pound of Reindeer Moss per Square Foot of wall space. That would be about 11 pounds per 1 Square Meter.
Bought my second batch of reindeer moss and it arrived today. Adding more trees to my model railroad and interspersing different colors of reindeer moss in my original 1000 tree “planting” to make it look more realistic. Delivery was fast and the product arrived in excellent condition. Love this reindeer moss !!

I would plan for 1 lb of SuperMoss Reindeer Moss for each Square Foot of space if you want to use all heads of the moss. Our moss in predominantly heads and does not have very long roots, so it has especially great coverage.
I bought two 1565 cu in boxes of reindeer moss to make trees on my model railroad. I “planted” 1,000 toothpicks on the hills and mountains of my large model railroad and speared the basil colored moss over the toothpicks. It looks great and really enhances the realism of the landscape. One fellow model railroader said they were some of the best looking trees he had ever seen, and having seen many model railroads myself I have to agree. Great product, good customer service, and fast delivery. I highly recommend this product. One bit of advice though. Wear latex gloves or your hands will be green (the color I ordered) and cover the tabletop or floor beneath the work area with a drop cloth to prevent discoloring from the bits and pieces of moss that fall off during handling. No worries though, it cleans up ok with soap and water.
