SuperMoss Dried Mountain Moss is a Green Sphagnum Moss. This type of moss can be found at the crests of mountains. It is an excellent soil conditioner in that it helps plants retain moisture and from being over-watered. Dried Mountain Moss also adds natural organic matter to soils that promote the activity of healthy microorganisms. This moss helps plants grow healthier by allowing the roots to access more oxygen, which is crucial in their uptake of essential micro and macronutrients. Use this as a liner in hanging baskets to reduce moisture loss or dress the soil around the base of plants for a natural touch. A hydrated bale will expand up to 5 times its volume.

Just what I neeed to boared multiple individual Staghorn ferns from a larger plant I had to break apart. Soaked the small bale of Sphagnum Moss in a large bucket of water for an hour. Moss expanded up beautifully and I was able to pull large pieces out easily. Squeezing out excess water and keeping moss intact. One bale goes a long way! Bought two and only needed one to my surprise!
